Mark Caldwell

Mark is a CPA qualified accountant with over 10 years’ experience. He attended University of Wollongong graduating with a bachelor of Commerce specialising in Accounting and Marketing. Mark is a SMSF Specialist Advisor (SSA) accredited with the SMSF Association in Australia.

Mark is a big supporter of Heartprint, a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping children and families in Cambodia to attain better living conditions and education.

When he’s not working, Mark referees basketball.

Mark is available for appointments to discuss your needs Monday – Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm.

Katherine Handley

Katherine began working for Black & White Accounting Solutions in March 2011. She has completed Certificate III in Business and Certificate IV in Business Administration through TAFE. In 2016, she changed up her role and now looks after various marketing aspects for both Black & White Accounting Solutions and our financial advisory counterpart, Future Accountants & Advisers.

As a creative mind, Katherine hopes to bring her skills across by keeping the websites and social media pages updated and liaising with staff to plan and execute successful seminars and events.

In her spare time, Katherine enjoys running her own small creative business from home, low-carb cooking, reading fiction novels, dabbling in abstract art & learning Australian Sign Language with her husband.

Emma Ford

As the firm’s receptionist, Emma is your first point of contact at Black & White Accounting Solutions.

Emma brings to the firm a strong customer-service base, having worked in hospitality for a number of years.

Emma aims to provide outstanding customer service to all of our clients and a positive experience each time they come into contact with our firm.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and playing tennis. She also loves socialising!


Julie Barton

Julie has been with the firm since 2014.

Along with Mark, Julie is involved in all aspects of the administration and continued management of our large Self-Managed Superfund base.

She is also an accountant and is training to become a qualified CPA.

When she’s not working, Julie enjoys playing board games with her 3 kids, walking her two dogs and playing basketball. She’s an avid Hawks supporter and a St George Illawarra fan!

Michelle Hamlyn

Michelle holds a Cert III in Financial Services and is currently completing her Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting.

As a Junior Accountant, Michelle completes tax returns, BAS’ and liaises with ASIC and the ATO on behalf of our clients. Michelle’s aim is to be efficient in completing all tasks set before her, priding herself on her quick responses to client queries.

When she’s not busy with her Uni and Accounting work, Michelle loves to relax with some needlework, crafts and cooking.

Alex Williams

Joining the team in 2017, Alex brings 4 year’s worth of public practice accounting experience to the firm.

Alex aims to do his best to service all client needs, in particular regarding business services. Alex has a solid understanding of a variety of accounting software and is happy to assist with your queries. He can assist with day to day individual & business taxation queries, preparation of financial statements & tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts & SMSF’s, ITWV applications, company bookkeeping & liaising with the ATO on your behalf.

In his spare time, Alex loves spending time with his daughter Eve, playing guitar, listening to music, cooking, learning new skills & spending time at the beach (and in the surf!).

Jacqueline Hall

Jacqueline joined our team in 2017. Jacqueline has had previous experience working with individuals to fulfll their tax requirements, and is currently studying her Masters in Professional Accounting, majoring in Tax Practitioner.

Jacqueline’s role includes preparation of tax returns, BAS/IAS returns and bookkeeping.

Jacqueline’s goal within the firm is to become a fountain of knowledge in all things tax-related so she can best meet the specific needs of our clients.

When she’s not working (or studying), Jacq enjoys volunteering in the Tax Help Program, hanging out with her 2 energetic boys and relaxing with family and friends. She loves a good road trip and travelling, singing loudly in the car and exploring Australia’s wine regions. As well as mastering all things tax, she’s also teaching herself how to restore timber furniture in the hopes that she can restore some family heirloom pieces back to their former glory!
